    This is Safari Camp:

At 17:00, our Safari Camp guides meet you for a car convoy along winding back roads up toward the area – beyond Kolmården's public grounds. Then it's time to park the cars and hike the last stretch on foot with your gear.

Once inside the area, you'll be assigned your accommodation in our cosy tent village, right next door to all the wild animals of the savannah. Our safari tents sleep 2–4 people and are equipped with beds, heaters and lights. Sleeping bags and pillows are part of your own packing. Our four-bed tents consist of two sleeping sections with two beds in each, separated by a shared space between the tents.

We also have two glamping tents in a prime location right by the savannah, each with its own veranda – if you peek out during the night, don't be surprised to find yourself face to face with one of our nocturnal hoofed animals. The glamping tents accommodate 5 people and are fully equipped with made-up beds, a reading nook, lights and outdoor furniture – everything you need for a comfortable stay.

Safari Camp includes an exclusive animal encounter. You'll get to learn more about how the animals you meet live, where they are found in the wild, and how our animal keepers work to make every day fun and enriching for them!

As darkness falls, we return to the tent village. At 19:30 it's time for dinner – a fantastic barbecue buffet prepared over an open fire by our guides (plenty of vegetarian options available). Food and drinks are enjoyed together in our larger basecamp tent. We also have a small bar available for those who wish to purchase wine or beer. The buffet is rounded off with a delicious dessert!

After dinner, a calm usually settles in. You enjoy the stillness, each other's company – or make new friends (children tend to quickly find new pals in the tent village). Before bedtime, we toast marshmallows over the evening's last embers. After that, a good night's sleep follows a full and eventful day. Light sleepers may want to pack a pair of earplugs – lions and other animals roar and make noise throughout the night!

In the morning, everyone is woken by our guides, who will have set out a hearty breakfast buffet at 07:30 in the basecamp. The morning light over the savannah is something truly special – you'll often find yourself standing in silence with a cup of coffee, gazing out over the area.

At around 08:30 on departure day, we gather for a joint transfer to Vildmarkshotellet, where there is an opportunity to shower and swim before the wildlife park opens for the day. Towels are available to borrow on site.

After your visit/swim at Vildmarkshotellet, you are welcome to enter the park through the wildlife park's main entrance. If you prefer not to shower/swim, you are welcome to enter the wildlife park from the main entrance when the park opens at 10:00.

Please note: You will need to both park any car and enter via the main entrance after your visit to Vildmarkshotellet.

    Tip:

Safari Camp is not recommended for younger children. School age and upward is more appropriate.

You need to bring your own vehicle to visit Safari Camp. In the tent village there are real toilets in a separate building. There are sinks with running water here, but there are no shower facilities. You are welcome to freshen up the next day with a shower and sauna in Lagunen.

Feel free to bring your own snacks, but bringing your own alcoholic beverages is not allowed in the tent village. If desired, wine and/or beer can be purchased in our bar i the common big tent. There is of course also the possibility to buy snacks/sweets at the camp.

Dinner is served around 19:30, so it's good to have food in your stomach or some snacks in the backpack until then.

Specify dietary deviations at the time of booking (vegetarian, lacto-gluten-free diet does not need to be notified in advance). If you book online, it works good to contact our booking department on 010 708 70 00 with this info.

    Safer booking with cancellation protection

With our popular cancellation protection, you can feel completely safe. You can then, upon presentation of a medical certificate, cancel or rebook your stay until 17:00 the day before arrival if you or a close relative suffers from illness or an accident.
