Kolmården's research process

    Project plan

The researcher sends in an application to forskningskoordinator@kolmarden.com which is handled in step 1 by the research committee at Kolmården Zoo. All applications must be presented in Kolmårdens Djurpark's research proposal template.

    Approval step 1

The research committee approves the project in a first step based on Kolmården's criteria.

    Approval step 2

After the committee's approval, the project plan is shared with the supervisor and operational manager of the concerned department for resource planning and an approval from an operational and resource perspective.

    Adjustments

All functions within Kolmårdens Djurpark affected by the project may need to come up with proposals for certain changes to the practical implementation to enable the project. If such a need arises, the planning ends up back with the researcher and then goes through the stage two approval process once more.

    Execution

When the project is approved and the practical work at Kolmården Zoo is to start, contact with the project team is managed by the supervisor of the department where the data collection is to be carried out and/or with Kolmården's research coordinator. Practical work with data collection at Kolmårdens Zoo must be reported and planned at least three weeks in advance.

    Exit

When publishing results through scientific articles or poster or oral presentations, Kolmårdens Djurpark must always be mentioned under 'acknowledgements'. Kolmården also wants to share all results from the study/work/data collection.
