Accessibility
At Kolmården
Everyone is equally welcome - always. That’s why we are continuously working to make visits easier for our guests with disabilities.
Good to Know for Guests with Disabilities
Kolmården is the largest wildlife park in the Nordic region. The terrain in the park is
hilly with many slopes and fairly large distances between attractions
and animals. The environment varies between large open areas and forest. It is approximately 3
000 meters around the entire park if you follow the main path.
Before Your Visit
Guests with disabilities pay the regular price. Assistants or
support persons on duty have free admission together with the visitor. The assistant
must be at least 16 years old and be able to show identification. The need for
an assistant must be confirmed with documentation at Guest Services.
Parking and Public Transport
- The bus stop “Djurparken” is located about 50 meters from the main entrance and is accessible for people with reduced mobility.
- Special transportation services can pick up and drop off directly at the main entrance.
- Parking for people with reduced mobility is available in our main parking area (14 spaces). The parking fee is 149 SEK for a full day or 40 SEK per started hour, payable via app or payment machine.
Wheelchairs
Kolmården offers a limited number of wheelchairs that our guests are welcome to borrow free of charge for the day. The wheelchairs are issued via Guest Services outside the main entrance and cannot be pre-booked.
Guide and Service Dogs
Certified guide and service dogs are welcome in the park provided the following conditions are met:
- ID must be presented at Guest Services, showing both the dog’s and the handler’s information.
- A vaccination certificate is required, and the dog must be vaccinated against distemper (no more than 4 years prior).
- We also recommend vaccinations against parvovirus and parainfluenza.
- The dog must wear a service vest and harness during the entire visit.
Please note that guide and service dogs are not allowed in certain areas, including:
- Petting Zoo
- Kolosseum
- Aparium
- Exclusive animal experiences
- Animal presentations
In the dolphinarium, service dogs are only allowed in designated areas.

During Your Visit
Accessibility in the Park
Most areas of the park are accessible for wheelchairs and strollers, but please note that some zones include level differences and various surfaces (asphalt, gravel, grass).
Accessible toilets are available at the main entrance and at several other locations in the park, such as Bamse’s World and Marine World.
Quiet zones for rest and recovery can be found near Hopphagen and the coffee bar by Savannen.
The Accessibility Wristband
To make things easier for guests with disabilities, we offer an accessibility wristband. You can collect it at Guest Services or at the reception desk at Vildmarkshotellet by presenting valid ID and supporting documentation.
The wristband allows you to use attraction exits as entrances and grants queue priority for the wearer and one accompanying guest.
Trollskogen – New for 2025!
Trollskogen is largely accessibility-adapted and designed so as many people as possible can enjoy play and adventure. Most of the area is also accessible for wheelchair users.
Trolls’ Guard Tower – adapted for guests with mobility impairments. Crocodile River – adapted for guests with mobility impairments. Hia Hia’s Dragon Nest – difficult to access due to sandy ground. Captain Buster’s Sensory Garden – a calm and sensory-friendly experience, specially designed for children with various disabilities. Children can explore with multiple senses in a safe environment. Please note that it may be challenging to access this area by wheelchair due to uneven ground and level differences.
Ride Guidelines
Support persons, assistants, or adults must assist with boarding and exiting rides when needed and may ride together with the guest.
Guests with accessibility wristbands have priority access to rides along with one companion.
For other guests in the group:
For Godiståget, Viktoria, Mini-hopp, Sjörövarskeppet, Wildfire, and Delfinexpressen, the rest of the group must use the regular queue and can meet up at the attraction when it's their turn.
For Honungsburkarna, Skalman’s Cars, Bamse’s Flying Carpet, Skalman’s Balloons, and Skalman’s Flight School, guests with an accessibility wristband may ride with their entire group, within the ride’s stated capacity limits.
Safari Track has a maximum of 8 people per group.
Toilets
Accessible toilets for guests with mobility impairments are located at:
- Main Entrance
- Bamse’s World
- Trollskogen
- Children’s Farm
- Hopphagen
- Restaurant Hyllan
- Tiger World
- Marine World
- Safari Track
Animal Presentations & Shows
Most shows and animal presentations offer designated seating areas for wheelchair users. We recommend arriving early. The availability of shows varies by season. Guests with an accessibility wristband may use the pre-booked queue line where available, but reserved seats in the stands are not included in the wristband benefits.
Hearing Loop
All presentations and shows use loudspeakers. Certified hearing loops are available at the Dolphin Show, Bamse Theatre, Seal Show, and Bird Show. Sound-amplifying hearing support that connects to these loops is available at Guest Services.
Food & Drink
- All restaurants offer lactose-free, gluten-free, and vegetarian options.
- For special diets, allergies, or assistance reading the menu, please speak to a staff member.
- All of our restaurants are wheelchair accessible, though some kiosks may have slight level differences.
Shops, Games & Prize Wheels
All shops, games, and prize wheels are accessible for guests with mobility impairments.
Calm Spaces
If you need a quiet place to rest and recharge, we recommend the area around Klapphagen/Bondens Kök and the coffee bar by Savannen.
