Accessibility
At Kolmården
Everyone is equally welcome - always. That’s why we are continuously working to make visits easier for our guests with disabilities.
Good to know
-
Kolmården is the largest wildlife park in the Nordic region. The terrain is hilly with many slopes and fairly large distances between rides and animals. The environment varies between large open areas and forest. The main route around the entire park is approximately 3,000 metres.
-
Kolmården offers a limited number of wheelchairs that guests are welcome to borrow free of charge for the day. Wheelchairs are available from Guest Services outside the main entrance and cannot be pre-booked. There are also designated water wheelchairs (which can get wet) available to borrow in the shop next to the water play area in Trollskogen.
Public transport, mobility transport and parking
- The bus stop "Djurparken" is located approximately 50 metres from the main entrance and is adapted for guests with mobility impairments.
- Mobility transport services can drop off and pick up directly at the main entrance.
- Disabled parking is available in our main car park (14 spaces). Parking costs 149 SEK for a full day or 40 SEK per commenced hour, and is paid via app or parking meter.

Rides
In the accessibility guide you can read about which rides are accessible for guests using a wheelchair and how the alternative queues work at each ride. Under companion and alternative queue you can read about what applies as a companion and how guests with disabilities can access the alternative queue.

- Huvudentrén
- Bamses Värld

Food and drink
- All restaurants offer lactose-free, gluten-free and vegetarian options.
- For special dietary needs, allergy questions or menu reading assistance, please contact staff.
- All our restaurants are accessible for wheelchair users. Some level differences and steps may exist to reach the order counter at a few of our kiosks. See more information about each restaurant and kiosk in the accessibility guide.
Shops, games and prize wheels
- Most shops and games are accessible for guests in wheelchairs. However, some games and prize wheels may have limited accessibility, for example due to high counters.
Hearing loop
- All our shows and performances use speakers. A certified hearing loop is also available at our Dolphin Show, Bamse Theatre and Bird Show. Hearing support devices that amplify sound and can connect to the hearing loops are available to borrow from Guest Services.
Service dogs
Certified service dogs are welcome in the park provided the following requirements are met:
- ID documentation must be presented at Guest Services, showing details of both the dog and the handler.
- A vaccination certificate is required and the dog must be vaccinated against distemper (vaccination date no more than 4 years ago).
- We also recommend vaccination against parvovirus and parainfluenza.
- The dog must wear a service vest and harness throughout the entire visit.
Please note that service dogs are not permitted in certain areas, including:
- Klapphagen
- Kolosseum
- Aparium
- Exclusive animal experiences
- Animal shows
In the dolphinarium, service dogs are only permitted in designated areas.
